The ACC does have a lot of bowl eligible teams, but only two in the top 20. The SEC has seven bowl eligible teams (one will be playing for NC) and 4 in the top 25. The Big 12 has 7 bowl eligible (one will be playing for the NC) and 5 in the top 20. The Big 10 has 7 bowl eligible and 4 in the top 25. A case can be made for all of those conferences. The weakest seems to be the Pac 10, with only 5 bowl eligible and 3 in the top 25. But any fan will tell you his conference is best. And that's the way it should be.

well i see where you are coming from,

The ACC has a strong conference which they just kept knocking each other out of the picture. A bigger scale of what Texas, Tech, And Oklahoma did to each other.

the SEC was very weak this year compared to other years but they still were a great conference

Which is better, a couple of teams in a conference playing for a national championship or 10/12 bowl eligible?
The argument for the Big 12 and SEC is that they’ve got multiple teams playing for the national championship.

The ACC has 10 of 12 teams bowl eligible.

The ACC also won 3 of 4 this weekend against the SEC.

What makes a better conference? A couple of contenders or a lot of solid, good teams?
Your analogy to Texas, Texas Tech, and Oklahoma is right on the mark.
