My All-Star Reserves, Rajon Rondo Is Not On It
December 26, 2008
Below are the players I would select as reserves for the All-Star team. The format for picking All-Star reserves is to pick 1 center, 2 forwards, 2 guards, and 2 players at any position. For the West team I selected Gasol as a Center. People looking at my West team might be wondering about two picks, Jason Terry and Zach Randolph. Terry has been killing off the bench for the Mavs, they are 6 games over .500 after a pretty bad start. Zach Randolph has been killing since he got to LA and the Clippers have started to win some games. People always said he was not a winner but he can help the Clippers back to .500 before the season ends.
On the East team people may be wondering why Rondo is not on it. I have been hearing people talk about he should be All Star and I think it is a joke, tons of guards are playing better, putting up better numbers, and winning. Guys like Mo Williams, Mike Bibby, Jameer Nelson, Ben Gordon, and Derrick Rose should be all-star picks before Rondo. He is a good player but people need to get off his nutts.
To see the starters I would pick, click here.
Pau Gasol
Dirk
Zach Randolph
Brandon Roy
Billups
Jason Terry
Tony Parker
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
Chris Bosh
Paul Pierce
Joe Johnson
Vince Carter
Ray Allen
Devin Harris
My All-Star Starter Votes
December 21, 2008
These are the guys I would vote for as starters for the all-star game at this point in the season. I took wins into account as a big part of my picks other wise Dirk would be in over Amare and Devin Harris would be in over Jameer.
Yao Ming
Tim Duncan
Amare
Kobe Bryant
Chris Paul
Dwight Howard
Kevin Garnett
Lebron James
Dwayne Wade
Jameer Nelson
What The Hell Are The Warriors Doing?
November 30, 2008
Over the last few years the Warriors have traded Jason Richardson and let Baron Davis leave via free agency, in addition to those two mistakes the Warriors continue to draft players they never play and continue to sign and trade for small forwards and shooting guards.
Just a few weeks ago the Warriors had an undrafted rookie Anthony Morrow score 37 points and then come out eh next night and score 25. They also had Azubuike averaging around 16 points a game, not to mention the fact that they have both Stephen Jackson and Corey Maggette averaging over 19 points a game, throw in the missing man Monta who should be back in January and you already have a bunch of players that do the same thing.
Instead of sticking with those perimeter guys the Warriors decide to trade for Jamal Crawford, another player that does the same stuff. That trade cuts into Morrow’s minutes and Azubuike’s minutes which sucks for them. As a matter of fact Morrow had a DNP-CD the other night. When Monta gets back you will have a lot of unhappy players in Golden State because their are to many good guards and forwards but not enough minutes.
Brandon Jennings Scores 7 Points Off The Bench In His First Game
October 18, 2008
In Brandon Jennings first game in Italy he came off the bench to play 21 minutes and score 7 points on 2 for 6 shooting. I am very surprised he is not starting. I hope to get my hands on some highlights of the games so that I can post them here.
NBA 2K9 And NBA Live 2009 Will Be Released Tomorrow
October 6, 2008
If you play NBA video games then get ready for the release of two of the best and well known basketball video games. NBA 2K9 and NBA Live 2009 will both be released tomorrow. If you are unsure of which game to get, I would day go with 2K9. I played the demos for both games and 2K9 looks like it has much better graphics and features. Also, it has been the top basketball simulation game for years and their is no reason to think it won’t be again this year.
Teams Struggling On The Road
May 13, 2008
This playoffs almost every NBA team is struggling on the road. I am a fan that thinks home court shouldn’t make a big difference in how a team plays but it obviously does. Teams are scoring a lot a home and throwing up bricks on the road, teams are winning by 30 at home and losing by 30 on the road, people that are supposed to be stars are folding on the road.
One team in particular, Boston, is really showing their weakness on the road. People were sweating them when they killed the West on a Western road trip during the regular season but fans are seeing the real Celtics.
If the underdogs in these last few series want to advance they better step it up and play on the road like they play at home.
Official 2008 All-NBA Teams
May 8, 2008
First Team
Chris Paul
Kobe Bryant
Lebron James
Kevin Garnett
Dwight Howard
Second Team
Steve Nash
Deron Williams
Dirk Nowitzki
Tim Duncan
Amare Stoudemire
Third Team
Manu G.
Tracy McGrady
Paul Pierce
Carlos Boozer
Yao Ming
Pretty good teams overall. You can see my picks here. My biggest disagreements are with Yao and Manu being picked. I think you could probably look at Carmelo, AI, Camby and David West as replacements. Very odd that the top seven teams in the West had All-NBA selections and Denver, the 8th best team did not.
Dajuan Wagner Trying To Make A Comeback
May 8, 2008
Dajuan Wagner the former first round pick of the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2002 played in the NBA from 2002 to 2005 but injuries pushed him out of the league. He tried to make a comeback in 2006 but he started having injury problems again and had his contract with the Warriors bought out.
He played in a polish league this past season and is working out with Tim Grover, Michael Jordan’ s old trainer, again with hopes of getting on a NBA roster next season.
The guy is still young, only 25, lets hope that he gets ready and someone gives him a chance.
Checkout the clip below you can see the work he was putting in getting ready for his first NBA season back in 2002.
Houston Gets A Win In Utah
April 25, 2008
Utah was considered to be one of the hardest places to win but Houston was able to get a game in Utah last night to everyone’s surprise. Houston was able to get the win by getting the Jazz to play their low scoring, slow paced tempo. Even though they only won by two it was stillĀ a great win. Now they have to make sure that they can continue to dictate the tempo if they want to stay in the series. I am sure Utah will focus on trying to speed up the game especially with a great point guard like DWill.
