Jazz Did Not Believe
May 31, 2007
The Jazz were down 3 games to 1 and should have believed that they could win the next 3 games and advance to the NBA Finals but they did not. Word is some player on the Jazz booked vacations that start next week. Although it is disappointing to hear it is real not surprising considering only three player showed up in the series, Fisher, Boozer, and Williams, the rest of those guys did not care.
With the team they have and a bit more effort they could have took the series. Guess they will just have to wait until next year.
Hawks Have To Be Killing Themselves
May 27, 2007
The Atlanta Hawks had the second pick in the NBA draft in 2005. Everyone thought they should take a point guard but instead they drafted a forward, Marvin Williams. That choice left Deron Williams on the board and he was picked by the Utah Jazz.
Two years later Williams is a top 5 point guard in the NBA while the Hawks still don’t have a solid PG. Deron Williams is in the playoffs carrying the Jazz, along with Carlos Boozer, in just his second year in the NBA. Marvin Williams is a solid player but if the Hawks had Williams and Joe Johnson they would easiliy have one of the best backcourts in the league.
Utah Jazz Waiting For Suns/Spurs Winner
May 16, 2007
The Utah Jazz finished off the Warriors yesterday in game 5 of their series. I am said to see the Warriors go because they made the playoffs fun to watch.
The Jazz is still a team I will keep my eye on because I like Deron Williams and it is good to see a different team get this far. Most everyone picked the Mavs and Rockets to advance but neither team did. Utah will have a tough time dealing with the Suns or the Spurs but I think the Spurs may give them more trouble because they are a better defensive team. The point guard and power forward matchups no matter which team plays the Jazz will be interesting to watch.

Warriors Get A Win At Home
May 12, 2007
The Warriors beat the Jazz at home last night. They were pretty much in control the entire game. One of the biggest things that let them take control was the Warriors three point shooting and the fact that Deron Williams and Derek Fisher were in foul trouble. With their two point guards in foul trouble the Jazz had no one to get the ball to Boozer.
Another reason the Warriors were able to dominate is because they played defense, they stepped up on the boards, although they still got outrebounded by 10, and they shot 80% from the free throw line.
If the Jazz want to win this series they have to keep their guards on the floor and they have to be productive. Derek Fisher fouled out in just 16 minutes. Deron Williams played 27 minutes and had 7 turnovers and 4 fouls. These guys are having a very difficult time with Baron Davis.
Jazz/Warriors Game 2
May 10, 2007
The Jazz/Warriors game last night was very good but it did not end to well for Warriors fans. The only thing the Warriors had to do to close out the game in regulation was hit free throws, take care of the ball, and play a little defense. They failed at doing all three. Baron Davis turned the ball over late by stepping out of bounds, Mickael Pietrus missed two free throws and Baron Davis missed one, and they gave Deron Williams and uncontested jumper that allowed him to tie the game.
The Warriors are a good team with a style of game that has interested basketball fans but the fundamental things like hitting free throws and rebounding are where they lose games. They missed 11 free throws and were out rebounded 60 to 32. They also gave up 53% shooting. The fact that they were so close to winning shows how effective their style of play is. If they can just a little bit more effort in those areas they can get back into the series.
Even though the Jazz are up 2 games to 0 they have to be worried that the Warriors can stay so close even though the Jazz is killing them in several major statistical categories.
