Devin Harris Making Mark Cuban Look Like A Fool
December 1, 2008
The Mavericks made a blockbuster deal last season sending Devin Harris to the Nets for Jason Kidd. Now one month into the 08-09 season Devin Harris is making the Mavericks and Mark Cuban look like fools for trading him. Harris is averaging 25.3 points and 6.4 assists per game. He is averaging 11.8 free throw attempts per game.
Not only does he have monster stats but his team is winning. The Nets, a team that traded away Richard Jefferson and Kidd are a surprising 9 and 7. If Harris keeps this up he will be an all star, he will lead his team to the playoffs, and he will make Mark Cuban and all the Dallas fans wish he was still wearing a Dallas uniform.
New Jersey Nets 2008-2009 Season Preview
October 23, 2008
I don’t even know if the Nets are even worth previewing, we all know that they are just waiting for the Summer of 2010 so that they can go after Lebron. They got rid of Kidd and Jefferson now they have to find a way to get rid of Carter and his 4 years and $60 plus million deal. I am sure if they move him they will do it for a player with a contract that expires in 2009 or 2010.
As far as this season goes they are solid at the point guard position and they have athletic big guys but that’s about it. It seems like almost every guy on their team can only score off of three pointers or lucky shots around the basket with the exception of Yi, who is a good mid range shooter, VC, and Devin.
Last Year the Nets won 34 games and I expect them to be in that same range this season. Devin will have a good season, VC will get traded, and Chris Douglas Roberts will piss off all the general managers that didn’t draft him.
JKidd Deal Final
February 19, 2008
The Jason Kidd deal is final. The final trade went down like this, Dallas gets Jason Kidd, Malik Allen, and Antonie Wright and New Jersey gets Devin Harris, DeSagana Diop, Trenton Hassell, Maurice Ager, Keith Van Horn, and a 2008 and 2010 draft pick. This deal will cost the Mavs $11 million than the original deal but the Mavs get to keep Jerry Stackhouse and Devean George.
Stackhouse In Trouble
February 15, 2008
If the Jason Kidd to Dallas trade ends up going through, the NBA may prevent Jerry Stackhouse from resigning with the Mavs. The talk was that Stackhouse would be in a deal for Jason Kidd and he would most likely be bought out by the Nets. If that happens he would have to wait 30 day before signing with another team. Stackhouse commented that he would get 30 days to rest and then he would go right back to Dallas leading others to believe that they have a side deal which is not allowed.
If the NBA prevents Stackhouse from resigning with the Mavs their will be several playoff teams trying to sign him for an offensive boost off the bench.
Jason Kidd A Maverick?
February 13, 2008
It looks like another big time player is moving to a new team. Word is Jason Kidd and Malik Allen will be traded to the Mavericks for Devin Harris, Jerry Stackhouse, DeSagana Diop, Devean George, Maurice Ager, as well as $3 million cash, and a 2008 and 2010 first round pick.
With this trade the Mavs are losing a quick point guard that can beat players down the floor, draw charges, and get to the foul line. They are also losing their depth and some height. The Suns and the Lakers just got bigger and now the Mavs are getting smaller.
Some people like the move and I am not one of those people. Jason Kidd is overrated to me. He cannot shoot, he is old, and their a lot of better point guards in the Western conference. Battling Paul, Nash, Davis, Williams, Parker, and Fisher is going to kill Kidd.
It doesn’t really matter though, the Mavs are to screwed up mentally to win it with or without Kidd.
Lakers Still Looking At Kidd
December 23, 2007
The LA Lakers are 16 and 10, the bench is playing well and Andrew Bynum is one of the top 5 centers in the NBA but they still want Jason Kidd. They are trying to get Kidd with Kwame Brown, Radmonovic, and Farmar. Kwame Brown’s contract is expiring so that would give the nets some cap relief.
If the Lakers were able to pull off a deal to get Kidd and keep Bryant, Odom, and Bynum they would be vastly improved and they would still have a very good bench because Fisher would become the teams sixth man. That would also free up more minutes for Turiaf and Ariza.
Spurs Win Close Game, Nets Win Ugly Game
May 17, 2007
The Spurs trailed most of game 5 against the Suns but they took the lead late and where able to win the game. The Suns where missing to key players so for them to be that close is a good sign but game 6 is in San Antonio. Although both teams have won on the road in the series.
The Nets beat the Cavs last night and they only scored 6 points in the fourth quarter. They are very lucky to have survived with such at bad offensive output. The Cavs now have to go back to New Jersey to try and close out the series. Lebron better start playing much better if he wants to advance, he doesn’t have people that can step up if he has a bad game.

No Big Trades
February 23, 2007
After all the talk about Jason Kidd, Vince Carter, Pau Gasol, Mike Bibby, and all these other guys being moved it was a little surprising to see all of them stay put. There were only two trades, neither of them are even worth mentioning. I can see why a lot of team didn’t make moves, especially the Bulls. A team like the Bulls wanted Pau Gasol, but they would rather have Garnett. They kept saying they did not want to give of Luol Deng but they have plenty of small forwards to replace him. I think they really want to hold out until the summer to see if they can get Garnett if not they will settle for Gasol.
Teams like Sacramento and New Jersey did not make deal because team were not giving up enough. I know the Nets wanted Bynum from the Lakers and the Lakers said hell no. Due to the lack of moment during the season, the Summer should be busy as far as trades, especially with so many disgruntled stars and such a deep draft.
