Clippers Are Looking Horrible
November 8, 2008
I know it is real early in the season and I know the clippers have had injuries with Baron and Camby missing games, plus Tim Thomas sprained his ankle last night, but they are looking horrible. The Clippers are not scoring the ball and they have long period throughout games when they can’t score. Through 6 games they are only averaging 84.2 point per games and giving up 103.
Like I said it is early, they have had injuries, and they played the Jazz and Lakers two times each, so it is possible they will get better but as of now things aren’t looking good in Clipperland.
Los Angeles Clippers 2008-2009 Season Preview
October 3, 2008
The Clippers added a bunch of new players this season but they will still have to battle to make the playoffs because most of their players have had up and down careers. Baron and Camby are players that have had injury problems since they have been in the NBA. Kaman had a horrible 06-07 season before having a monster season last year. Tim Thomas seems to only play hard during a contract year. Ricky Davis can score but most consider him to be a cancer. Cuttino Mobley’s stats have declined since he left Houston.
The Clippers are going to need Camby and Baron healthy for a large portion of the season because Baron is going to determine how far this team goes and Camby is going to determine how good defensively this team will be. They also need last year’s Kaman to return this year. With Kaman scoring and getting rebounds and Camby rebounding and blocking shots, the Clippers will have one of the best power forward, center combos in the NBA.
If the team can get positive contributions from Thomas, Davis, Mobley, and guys like Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan they will improve on last years 23-59 record but they won’t make the playoffs. If you look at every team in the West that was in the playoff last year you expect every team, except Denver, to be back and you would think that Portland would take the spot that was Denver’s last year. The Clippers will have to get extremely hot in order to get in the playoffs
Camby A Clipper
July 16, 2008
Looks like the Clippers took my advice. I wrote a few days ago that I thought they should use their cap space on a back to the basket player instead of a wind player like Josh Smith. Marcus Camby isn’t a back to the basket player but he is a better fit than Josh Smith or Luol Deng would have been. He will block shots, rebound the basketball and he should get more opportunities to score in LA then he got in Denver.
On the other hand the Nuggets are cheap as hell, they gave up Camby for nothing and they already lost Najera. What if they lose JR Smith? Man, they will really suck next year.
Clippers Looking At 4 Restricted Free Agents
July 13, 2008
Now that the Clippers have lost Elton Brand they are looking at using their cap space on Emeka Okafor, Josh Smith, Andre Iguodola, and Luol Deng. All 4 are free agents which mean their respective teams would have 7 days to match the offer. It is very likely that each one of those team would match which means they would tie up their cap space for 7 days and by them more free agents would be off the market.
Okafor would probably be a good pickup because he can rebound and block shots but he and Kaman might not be able to play together. Josh Smith is and athletic do it all player that can play the 3 and 4 but he might get in the way of Thorton’s development. Iguodola would be a better fit at the 3 than Smith because he is a bit smaller, and he is a better ball handler and would seem to fit better next to Josh Smith. Deng also seems to be a very similar player to Thornton.
The Clippers really need another back to the basket player. If they waste all their money on a wing player like Smith or Deng fans will love it but they won’t make the playoffs.
Baron A Clipper
July 2, 2008
Baron Davis will be a LA Clipper next season. He opted out of the last year of his deal which would have paid him $17.8 million and took a 5 year $65 million deal with the LA Clippers. The Clippers plan to resign Elton Brand and the could have a starting lineup of Baron, Mobley, Thronton, Brand, and Kaman with Eric Gordon and Tim Thomas coming off the bench. It should be fun to watch.
Injured Stars Return
April 3, 2008
Several NBA stars returned from injuries last night. Elton Brand, Gilbert Arenas, Pau Gasol, and Dirk Nowitzki. The biggest surprise comeback of those four guys was Dirk. Everyone thought he was done for the year but he surprisingly returned to help the Mavs to their first win over a .500 team since Jason Kidd Came to town. Dirk finished with 17 points and 4 rebounds.
It was also a big surprise to see Gilbert Arenas back on the court. I read that he was cleared to play but they said he would not play until he got his mind right but I guess they decided to let him play anyway. He played a solid game and Arenas scored 17 points in 20 minutes.
Pau and Brand also had solid games and picked up wins in their returns.

Kobe You Should Have Signed With The Clippers In 2004
April 26, 2007
A few years back when Kobe Bryant was a free agent his final decision of whom he would sign with came down to the Clippers and the Lakers. I was hoping he would make the smart choice and sign with the Clippers. This was a situation with many positives including the fact that he would be in same city and play in the same building. The only negatives of going to the Clippers were the fact that he would make less money and he would probably feel like he was abandoning Lakers fans.
In the end he came back to the Lakers and passed up a chance to play with the Clippers. That team would have had a starting five of:
Chris Kaman
Elton Brand
Corey Maggette
Kobe Bryant
Shaun Livingston
It would have been great to see that team on the floor together, too bad we never will.
Clippers And Warriors Fight For Last Playoff Spot
April 18, 2007
The Clippers and Warriors are battling for the final playoff spot in the West. The Warriors need a win or a Clippers loss to clinch. The Clippers need a win AND a Golden State loss to clinch because they have the tie breaker. The Warriors play the Trailblazers while the Clippers play the Hornets.
If Golden State clinches it will end a 13 year drought, one Warriors fans hoped that Baron Davis and Don Nelson could help end. If the Clippers clinch it will be a good end to a disappointing season for the in which various key players like, Chris Kaman and Tim Thomas, have underperformed. Not to mention the fact that Dunleavy was screwing Maggette over for half the season. He only started 30 of the 74 games he played this year but he was still able to average 16.8 points per game in just 30 minutes.
