Denver Knocks Off Dallas To Get Closer To A Playoff Spot
March 28, 2008
The Nuggets moved closer to a playoff spot with a win over Dallas last night. Denver has won 4 straight games. They have a key stretch coming up where that play Golden State then Phoenix twice. If they can get those three while Dallas drops a few while Dirk is out they will be in but they will still have to watch their back, they have a tough 4 games at the end of the season. Their is also a chance that Dirk will comeback early so they better step it up if they want to end up in the postseason.
If Denver Doesn’t Make The Playoffs Blame JR Smith’s Limited Minutes
March 26, 2008
JR Smith came straight out of high school to the NBA in 2004 and he has been a solid player in the limited minutes he has played. He had a couple of off the court issues to start the season but the kid can play. He has had a ton of games this season when he played 15 minutes or less. If Denver doesn’t make the playoffs that will be a big reason why.
The Nuggets are a bad defensive team. Their best option to win games is to try to outscore people. They try to be a run and gun, uptempo team but how can you do that with your third best scorer on the bench?
If you look at the starting lineup of the Suns before the Shaq trade they had 5 guys that could score. If you look at the Golden State Warriors starting lineup when Al Harrington is starting in place of Biedrins they have 5 guys that can score. Now lets look at the Nuggets starting lineup, they have two guys that can score Melo and AI and then they have KMart who can give them some points, then they have Camby and Carter two guys that can’t score. Basically the Nuggets are trying to play a high scoring game with only 2 1/2 scorers.
If that guy had played more minutes at the start of the year than the Nuggets would be in a better position right now.

Dirk Out For Two Weeks
March 23, 2008
Dirk Nowitzki went down today against the Spurs with a leg injury and word out of Dallas is that he will be out at least 2 weeks. It is a big blow to the Maverick. They are in 7th place in the Western conference and could easily end up out outside of the playoffs. They are 9-8 since the acquired Jason Kidd, and they are 0-8 against winning teams since they got Kidd.
They have a pretty tough schedule in the next two weeks, they play Golden State twice, the Lakers, Denver, Phoenix, and Utah. They also play the Clippers twice and Seattle once.
How crazy would it be to see a team get to the finals in 2006 and blow it, come back in 2007 and bounced in the first round and then in 2008 make a trade that was supposedly going to make them a contender and then not even make the playoffs.

Celtics Ends Rockets Winning Streak
March 19, 2008
The Rockets winning streak ended yesterday at 22 games. They ran into a Boston Celtics team that is good defensively and got shut down in the second half. The score was tied 40-40 at halftime but things went downhill for the Rockets after that.
The Celtics held Tracy McGrady to 8 points and he stated that it was the best defense that the team faced this year. As much as people have been talking about the West, people better remember that the Celtics have been the most impressive team. They play good defense, they are deeper with Sam Cassell and PJ Brown, they can win on the road, and they have won games with key players missing.

Denver Explodes For 168- 116 Win Over The Sonics
March 17, 2008
The Nuggets beat the Sonics 168-116 in Denver last night. They scored 48 points in the first quarter, 36 points in the second quarter, 43 points in the third quarter, and 41 in the fourth quarter. They had eight players in double figures and everybody that played scored and Marcus Camby had a triple-double.
The 168 points was a franchise record for the Nuggets and it was the third most in NBA history.
As big an accomplishment that is, it has a lot of people looking at the Nuggets and George Karl as classless. Some think they ran up the score, even though their starters sat the entire fourth quarter. Combine this and Carmelo’s attempt to get 50 points a few weeks ago and people are losing respect for them.
I think if a bunch of guys come in the game that barely play, like Steven Hunter, Taurean Green, and Diawara, they should be allow to play hard rather then bringing the ball up and holding it until their is one second left on the clock before shooting the ball.
The Nuggets need to get focused on playing like this every night, especially on the road, if they want to make the playoffs. They are one and a half games behind the Warriors for the 8th spot in the West.
