My All Star Votes As Of Now
November 30, 2007
I don’t vote on my all star until the game starts to get closer but I would like the name the people I would vote for if I were to vote today.
East
Dwight Howard
KG
Lebron James
Ray Allen
Jason Kidd
The East would be easy to pick. Guys like Wade, Jermaine O’neal and Arenas have been hurt. Shaq has fallen off a lot. Jason Kidd and Lebron are racking up triple double so you can’t leave either of them off. The only selection you could argue with is Ray Allen. You could make a case for him to be bumped for Caron Butler or his teammate Paul Pierce, or you could drop Lebron to the 2 and put Rashard Lewis at the 3 but I will stick with Allen at the 2.
West
Yao Ming
Tim Duncan
Stephen Jackson
Kobe Bryant
Steve Nash
The West was not as easy as the East, especially at the 1 and 3. I was tempted to go with Baron Davis at the 1 because I think he is the best PG in the NBA. Take out the excessive 3 pointers and the injuries and this guy should get more love from fans. Due to the fact that his team lost the first six games and the fact that Nash is a better shooter and his team has a better record I had to go with Nash.
At the 3 spot I was tempted to go with Melo, Josh Howard, Shawn Marion, and T-Mac but I decided to go with Stephen Jackson. The Warriors have been tearing up the league since he came back. He is averaging 22 points, 6 boards, and 5 assists. This guy is very important to the team and their record shows it.
Bucks Coming Back Down To Earth
November 29, 2007
The Bucks knocked off 3 good NBA teams last week and were 6 and 0 at home and 7 and 4 overall. Now this week so far they have already lost to the 76ers and the Hawks. The Bucks are a good team but they lose games they should win too often. If they can be consistent they can make the playoffs but if they continue have weeks like this on a regular basis it will be a long season.
Early Season MVP
November 29, 2007
A lot of players are stepping up their game this year but Dwight Howard is the main guy that is bringing. He is scoring, rebounding, playing D, and most important of all winning games. The team has not changed much except for the addition of Rashard Lewis. The lost Hill and Milicic and have still improved a lot.
Dwight scoring more points is helping a lot, along with Turgolu and Nelson playing some of their best basketball. Lets not forget about the new coach, I am sure he has brought a lot to the table to help this team improve.
Other guys like Garnett, Nash, and Lebron are playing great but Howard would be MVP hands down.
More Bets
November 21, 2007
I have placed a few more bets since my last post about betting. I have bet on 9 more games, a mix of college and NBA basketball. Overall I am 10-1 since I started betting in the last few weeks. The bet I lost was the Bucks vs. Cavs game. I bet on the Cavs to win it but they blew the game.
My total profit so far is about $42. I usually only bet $5 on each game. Over the next few weeks I may start to play around with a little bit more money and see how I do.
Ariza Traded To LA
November 21, 2007
The Lakers made a small trade yesterday, the move Mo Evans and Brian Cook for Trevor Ariza. Ariza has shown flashes of the player he can be over his years in the league but has not gotten consistent minutes. He should get some good minutes behind Kobe and Lamar in LA.
Jay Bilas Says OJ Mayo is Overated
November 19, 2007
Well, not really but he kinda dissed OJ by leaving him out of his top 5 Freshman. Jay was all over ESPN with his top 5 Freshman which were, in no order,
Kevin Love
Derrick Rose
Kyle Singler
Eric Gordon
Michael Beasley
Since OJ is the one we have been hearing about for years it was a surprise not to see him on the list. Out of the 5 players I have seen Rose play and I have seen a little bit of Gordon and Love. Gordon is a solid player, he can shoot but to me his handles kinda suck. Parts of a game I saw where love was playing I just turned off because he looked like he can’t play.
I saw Rose play and he is a quick guy and a high jumper but he need to work on his left hand and controlling his speed. That guy was going to the hole throw up BS on several possessions, although he did seem to always make up for it.
I have not seen Beasley or Singler play but I will. I have not seen Mayo play but I am sure I will have to disagree with Bilas’ top 5 Freshman once I do.
I Bet On Some Games
November 13, 2007
I messed around and bet on a few basketball games yesterday. It was my second time betting. The first time I bet on a game was at the end of last season. I bet on San Antonio to win, at least I thought I did, and they did not even give me my money. I decided to give it a try again just because I still had money in my account.
I put $5 on the Hornets over New Jersey. The Hornets were the underdog but I picked them because I knew VC was out. The Hornets won. Then I picked the over for the Nuggets/Cavs game. If the total points were over 207 I would win. I figured that neither team is good defensively so they would go over that mark. The score was 122 to 100, Denver won.
I won both bets and I actually got paid this time so that was good. I only made $8.25. I may bet on games every once and a while, it is kinda fun.

Should The Bulls Be Worried
November 7, 2007
The Chicago Bulls are 0 and 4 which is very interesting considering that they did not want to trade for Kobe. Now they have got fans and analysts wondering if they should be worried and if they should go ahead and go after Kobe.
I think that the players have been a little shaken by the trade rumors which is why they are not performing. One of their biggest problems is that they do not have a go to player. Deng, Gordon, and Hinrich are good but neither one of them is a consistent go to player down the stretch. Another problem is that Ben Wallace has been injured.
Also throw in the fact that Gordon and Deng are pretty much playing for their future. Both players turned down $50 million extensions recently and they probably have it on their mind so much that they have a hard time putting the team first.
