Kobe Video Released Free

June 30, 2007

Told you those guys were stupid, they turned down $100,000 so that they could sell the video for $2 a piece but they ended posting it for free probably because no one was talking about them or Kobe anymore. People were talking about KG, Durant, Oden, and the 2007 Draft. The little counter on their site got up to at least 12,000 before they released the video. So they fell way short of their goal.

Draft Night Trades

June 29, 2007

A couple of trades actually went down yesterday although KG was not one of the guys to be moved. The Sonics traded Ray Allen and the number 35 pick Glen Davis to Boston for Delonte West, Wally S., and the number 5 pick Jeff Green. By making this move the Sonics say that they want to keep Rashard Lewis and have a big lineup with Green at the two, Durant at the 3, and Lewis at the 4.

Overall I think the Sonics should have kept Ray Allen, he is 32 but he has gotten better the last few years. He is the best shooter in the NBA and would have teamed up great with Durant. The biggest reason I don’t understand the trade is because the Sonics made it seem like they were picked Durant to replace Lewis, but now they want to keep Lewis. They would have been better off keeping having a line of Ridnour, Allen, Durant, Lewis, and Wilcox.

The Knicks traded Channing Frye & Steve Francis to Portland for Zach Randolph, Dan Dikau, and Fred Jones. Some people like the trade for Portland because they are getting rid of a guy that has had some problems. Others say they did not get much for Randolph and they should have kept him to play next to Oden. On the Knick side some are happy and others think he is too similar to Eddy Curry.

I think the Blazers should have kept him to play along side Greg Oden he averaged 23 and 10 which is not something a ton of players do. With this trade the Knicks add some offensive player and rebounder that is known for being a bad defender, although many in the NBA are. It also gives them a more solid lineup. We know now that Curry is the center, Randolph is the PF, Jefferies is the SF, Crawford is the SG, and Marbury is the PG. No more mixing and matching lineups, no more starting mediocre forwards, or starting two point guards for the Knicks.

The Blazers plan to buyout Francis, the deal for him was more for cap relief. Frye will also be a solid edition but I think they should have kept Randolph.

The Warriors traded Jason Richardson the Bobcats for Brendan Wright and Jamareo Davidson. I don’t think it was a good deal for either team. I Warriors are already a very thin team, during the playoffs they stuck with a 8 man rotation. Now the traded Richardson for two rookies that might not be able to contribute right away. It also hurts them in the backcourt once Baron Davis takes his annual trip to the injured list. They will be stuck with Monta Ellis trying to carry the load.

For the Bobcats I think it was a bad move because Adam Morrison is supposed to be their SG of the future. If they keep Wallace and he play SF, then Richardson will start at the SG, and Felton at the PG, leaving Morrison on the bench. Michael Jordan said he wanted a go to scorer and he feels that is what he go in Richardson. I don’t see that with Richardson because he is a bad ball handler. In Golden State he had Arenas and Davis getting him the ball in perfect position. In Charlotte they will ask him to create and that will only lead to a ton of turnovers.

Greg Oden Will Be The First Pick In The Draft

June 28, 2007

It came out yesterday that the Blazers plan to take Greg Oden in the draft. A lot of people were mad saying it takes away from the mystery of the draft but we all had to know that they would pick Oden.

With that information coming out yesterday I made the easiest $10 of my life. A guy I know bet me $10 that the Blazers would take Durant.

Rumors Suck

June 27, 2007

Around the trade deadline and around draft time we always here a ton of trade rumors involving some of the biggest names in the leagues. Even though they are just rumors it is real easy to get your hopes up. We have been hearing rumors about Garnett going to LA, Boston, and Phoenix.  We have been hearing about Marion going to Boston or Minnesota. We have been hearing about Stoudemire going to Atlanta or Minnesota.

I just want one of these big deals to go down. I am sick of the rumors, these GMs better start making some real moves. Especially Danny Ainge, everything he thinks is right he should just do the opposite. He is saying that he thinks that is team will keep the number 5 pick. He is also very reluctant to give up Jefferson.  He needs to do the opposite, especially if he wants to keep Pierce happy and if he wants to keep his job.

Who Will Win In This 4 Team Deal

June 26, 2007

A lot of quality players are involved in the 4 team KG deal that is being talked about. Even though they are still talking about the deal and we don’t know all the players and picks that will be involved, I still want to look at how it affects each team.

The Lakers will add KG giving them one of the best duos in the league. They would have a starting lineup of Brown, KG, Walton, Bryant, and Farmar. That is if they keep Brown, resign Walton, and don’t get a better PG than Farmar. That really doesn’t look to great on paper. The would have to resign and start Chris Mihm and get a better PG to really improve. They could probably get Troy Hudson or Telfair but that would not really improve them much at PG.

The Timberwolves would get Al Jefferson and the 5th pick in the draft. They would get an up and coming big man and they could get a great forward in the draft.

The Pacers would benefit the most from the deal if you ask me, they get Bynum and Odom to go along with Jamal Tinsley and Danny Granger, if guys play up to potential. If they get those two they will have a team of underacheivers but if these guys play like they should the Pacers will make the playoffs.

The Celtics would get Jermaine Oneal to team up with Paul Pierce. That would be a solid addition if they can keep Delonte West and Gerald Green.

Garnett Could Go To LA

June 25, 2007

The Lakers are in the process of trying to get Kevin Garnett in a Lakers uniform. Right now the Lakers, Wolves, Celtics, and Pacers are trying to work on a deal. Early talk is saying Garnett would got to LA, Jermaine Oneal would go to Boston, Bynum and Odom would go to Indiana, and Al Jefferson and the number 5 pick would go to Minnesota. Some other players and picks would also be involved.

Even with the talk about Garnett possibly going to the Lakers, Kobe is still saying he wants out of LA.

Overview of the 2008 Free Agent Class

June 23, 2007

John Hollinger has a great preview of the 2008 free agent class. With guys like KG, Arenas, and Marion potentially opting out things could get interesting. Although we shouldn’t get to excited since free agents rarely switch teams. The last time some big name players switched teams was when TMac and Grant Hill went to Orlando.

You can checkout the list here.
