TMac For Iverson?

December 12, 2006

I have not heard any rumors regarding Houston even being interested in Iverson but I am just throwing this out there just because the Rockets know that McGrady is not a guy that can lead them to far. Over the last few years he has seemed a bit lazy. I remember the talk a few years ago about whom was better McGrady or Kobe, now no one really talks about McGrady, they talk about Lebron versus Kobe.

On the other hand Iverson is always playing hard even when he is hurt sick or whatever. The trade would give the Rockets more of a leader that will be on the floor. The trade would also give the 76ers a guy that can fill the seats when he plays. It is very unlikely this would go down but it is nice to think about it.

Iverson Should Be Traded In Next 48 Hours

December 10, 2006

The 76ers are ready to get ready of Iverson and they hope to trade him within the next 48 hours according to ESPN. The Sixers would prefer to trade him to the West but they are trying to do something ASAP so trading him to an eastern conference team is a big possibility.

Iverson To Sit Next Two Games, Wants To Be Traded

December 8, 2006

Word is that Iverson wants out of Philly and the Sixers GM will do his best to give him what he wants. That is probably the reason that Iverson is suddenly out the next two games with back spasms.

I guess this buys the team some time while they deal with the media and talk to Iverson and his agent. Even though he is owed a lot of money over the next two years he is still very productive. He is averaging 31.7 points a game at the age of 33 years old, which is really remarkable considering his size and the amount of punishment he takes. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.

Trades May Be Coming

December 7, 2006

After nearly 20 games some of the worst teams in the NBA seem to be looking, very hard, to add new players. The Nets are looking to add some pieces in the frontcourt, although they don’t have much trade bait. The Heat are looking for help in the backcourt and seem to be very high on trying to get Earl Watson.

And of course their are the usual Kevin Garnett rumors with Chicago and the Lakers being seen as the teams with the pieces to pry him away from Minnesota. It would be a treat to see KG playing with either team, but him and Kobe would be a better duo to watch than him and Ben Wallace. It seems like the Lakers would have to give up Bynum, Odom, and a few more pieces to get him. The would end up with a starting 5 of Kwame, KG, Walton, Bryant, and Parker. The Bulls would probably give up Ben Gordon, PJ Brown, and Tyrus Thomas. It seems like the Bulls won’t lose much if they went ahead with the deal so I wonder what they are waiting on. PJ Brown is old and Thomas is young. Ben Gordon would be a huge loss but I doubt if the wolves would want him because they alreay have Mike James, Randy Foye and another young guard they drafted last year. The wolves would probably want Luol Deng instead. If the Bulls could get KG and still keep Gordon then that would be a successful trade.

Eddy Curry 7 Straight Games Over 20 Points

December 5, 2006

The Knicks are trash but they can have a little hope for a better future because it seems like Eddy Curry, known as Baby Shaq in high school, is finally starting to come on.

A few of those big games have come against teams with solid frontlines like Chicago and Detroit. For the season he is averaging 16.6 per game. Curry did average 16.1 a game two seasons ago when he was with the Bulls, but since he has been in New York he hasn’t done much on a consistent basis until now. In order for him to maintain these types of performances he needs to get in better shape and stay out of foul trouble. He is averaging 3.9 fouls per game. It also wouldn’t help if he could get a few more rebounds, he is only averging 7.1 per game, but that can be his focus next season as he continues to improve..

Al Thornton Jumps Over Wisconsin Badger

December 4, 2006

This game versus Wisconsin was the first game I saw this guy play. After this dunk I will keep my eye on him, his name is Al Thornton and he plays for Florida State University.

Tyronn Lue Is Ballin

December 3, 2006

People have been getting on the Atlanta Hawks the last two years for all the players they passed on in the draft. They passed on Chris Paul, Deron Williams, and Marcus Williams just to name a few.

If Tyronn Lue keeps playing like he is then they won’t have to regret passing up those guys as much. Their was a mild amount of hype when the Hawks signed Speedy Claxton in the summer as their new starting PG but he has been injured and is only averaging 5 points per game. Lue on the other hand is coming off the bench putting up 15.8 points and 4.1 assists in 30.9 minutes which is better than a handful of starting point guards including who is only averaging 10.5 points per game.

If you look at Tyronn Lue’s career stats you can see that minutes equals better production. Last season he averaged 11 points a game in 24 mintues. Common sense would be to play the guy 35 to 40 minutes a game and you got yourself a 18 ppg scorer.

His height has probably been his biggest issue in him getting consistent minutes but with the way he is playing that shouldn’t even matter.

Tyson Chandler Versus Ben Wallace

December 1, 2006

Tyson Chandler was traded to the New Orleans Hornets in the summer and tonight he will be facing his old team, and the man that replaced him for the first time. Many people feel that Chandler is playing better than Ben Wallace. Chandler is averaging 11.9 rebounds per game, although he is only scoring about 5.9 points per game.

When you compare the two and look back at the moves the Bulls made they basically traded a tall rebounder with no offense to sign a shorter rebounder with no offense. You can say that the Bulls might as well have kept Chandler and signed a better free agent with all that cap money but Chandler did not have confidence when he was in Chicago. Plus, their was a lot of pressure on him so a fresh start is what he needed.

Ben Wallace has the pressure on him now and it looks like he is handling it the same way Chandler did, by losing confidence and playing poorly. Being a vet I would think Ben Wallace and the Bulls will become stronger as the year goes on and start to play like people predicted they would.
