Nuggets, Out of the first round?

With the way Carmelo Anthony is playing combined with the moves the team has made, I expect the Nuggets to finally get out of the first round since this year. In the past three years since Anthony has been with the team the have go the boot in the first round. Anthony is playing his butt off with the US team and is overshadowing Lebron and Wade. Not to mention the team has added JR Smith.

Some consider Smith a bust but I expect him to shine this upcoming season. Check out some highlights of this guy from when his was at Rucker Park recently.

 

Latrell Sprewell Being Investigated for Sexual Assault

Latrell Sprewell is being investigated for the sexual assault of a 21 year old woman on his boat in Milwaukee. The woman says they were having consensual sex on tuesday the 29th, when he began to strangle her.

What I don’t understand is why this would be considered sexual assault. I would think that would be considered battery but I guess we will have to wait until more details come out.

Three Pointers

The NBA has a boatload of great players but a lot of those players could be better if they limited the amount of three pointers they took. Kobe Bryant is one of the best players in the NBA but he constantly pulls up for threes on a fastbreak. It is could when he hits them but why not go to the whole? I can say the same for Lebron. Yeah his shooting has improve but why shoot fadeaway threes? That is what others want.

Baron Davis is a solid player except for the health issues. If you watch him play you can see how good of a ball handler he is but he prefers the three. Antoine Walker, all I have to do is say his name. It seems that the three point line is keeping players away from being as good as they should be and it is also hurting their team. Hopefully we can see some of these player exhibit some control and starting taking the ball to the hole.

Nelson returning to coach the Warriors

The Golden State Warriors have bought out Mike Montgomery’s contract and are going to hire Don Nelson. They got rid of Montgomery after back to back 34 and 48 seasons. With Nelson coaching you can expect to see the Warriors playing a style similar to what the Mavericks play. With a more experienced coach and healthy players (i.e. Baron Davis) the Warriors have a great chance to make the playoffs.

Even though they have not made dramatic moves this offseason, they have until February to do so. A lot of trades have been rumored involving Troy Murphy so you never know what the roster will look like in a few months.

USA kills Australia in World Championships

USA beat Australia 113 to 73 in the World Championship yesterday. The turning point in the game was a 23 to 1 run by the USA. As expected Andrew Bogut had a big game with 20 points but he couldn’t prevent the blowout. Carmelo Anthony led the USA with 20 points.

Dajuan Wagner says five are interested

According to Dajuan Wagner at least 5 teams are interested in his services. He feels the most important thing is to go somewhere that he can play. He doesn’t want to be riding the pine. It is still a shock to me teams are waiting on this guy. He is cheap and all the expensive free agents are gone so why wait?

Better Basketball DVDs

A few weeks ago I mentioned that I would be discussing things that are not just for basketball fans but also for basketball players and I am finally getting to it. For those of you that want to make improvements in your game you have to see the collection of better basketball videos. The provide really good information. When I got the a few years ago I got them just so I could see their ball handling video because I knew the video had about 115 drills and I need some new ones to do.

I did not expect to learn so much from the shooting DVD but I actually changed my entire shooting form after seeing how I was supposed to be shooting. It seems all these years I was moving my left hand when I was shooting which is why I was such a streaky shooter. After changing my form my shot has improved a lot. Since I bought mine they have come out with 3 or four more videos and I am sure those are top notch as well.

Harrington to th Pacers, US Team Playing Good

I am late on this but Harrington is going back to the Pacers. It will be interesting to see how he fits in with Granger and Steven Jackson there. I would think Granger would head to the bench or they may move one of those guys to the 4 spot and play them together. Although that may not happen either because I am sure the Pacers will make more moves.

The US team is playing well I have read but I personally have not seen any games and very few highlights. I have been really busy plus a lot of the games come on after I see the scores so it spoiled everything. Lets hope they can keep it up.
